Software Development Engineer
Supply Chain Optimization Technologies - Sales Demand Forecasting
New York, NY
After having graduated Rutgers University, I started my first ever full-time position at Amazon in NYC! The team that I had joined was responsible for generating sales-demand forecasts for countries that just started to have their own retail site, such as Singapore, the Netherlands, Sweden, India, and Poland.
During my time on this team, I had developed several internal applications to generate demand forecasts by processing large internal databases using Scala, Spark, Hadoop, and Native AWS technologies (S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions). Beyond this, I also was a feature lead for expanding the products that we provided forecasts for in those specific countries. As the feature lead, I generated the design of this project end-to-end, worked with different teams within Amazon that were responsible for the inventory data, created sub-tasks for this project, and worked very closely with my team to implement my design.
Software Development Engineer Intern
AWS S3
Seattle, WA
I had the privilege of working with Amazon AWS S3 during the summer going into my fourth year of college. S3 is Amazon's storage service which provides a key-value-oriented interface to an infinitely scalable and durable storage system. Amazon S3 currently stores trillions of objects and regularly services millions of requests per second at peak.
During my internship, I designed and implemented a service to decrease latency for internal S3 services using Java and Junit. I presented this project to my manager, senior manager, and the director of S3.
